North Georgia Volleyball is excited to announce Jeff Black as the new Director/Owner. Kurt Matthews will serve as a mentor/consultant in an advisory position to NGV and ensure the continued growth and success of the program.

Dear North Georgia Volleyball Families,
I am excited to announce North Georgia Volleyball will be expanding greatly for the 2024-2025 season. We will be adding a more robust competitive club program, implementing a “mini-club” series geared for the development of younger and new players, expanding our skill training options for both our members & non-members, summer skills camps (including college coach-led camps), and a full tournament series.

In order to deliver a more expansive club, I have decided to turn the club over to Jeff Black so that he can serve as the full time Owner/Club Director for NGV. I will finish out the 2023-2024 programs, and continue to be the point-of-contact, through this summer, with Jeff taking over at tryouts in July 2024.

I will serve in an advisory role for the 2024-2025 season. Jeff & his team will manage the day to day needs for the club with his main responsibilities being expanding the programming as well as helping refine our training techniques. We will offer expanded programs out of Gainesville, Commerce, and Hartwell.

We will also be bringing on board an Assistant Director (Savannah Roys) as well as an Administrative Coordinator (Denise Corrigan). Stay tuned for those announcements soon. Starting next week we will also be announcing the coaching lineup for our club teams for the 2024-2025 season.

With the growing nature of the sport and the need for a larger, full-service club in the North Georgia Area, I feel it was time for someone with Jeff’s experience and energy level to take the club to the next level.

I have THOROUGHLY enjoyed my experiences with not only my coaching staff (which I can never thank enough) but both players & parents as well. It has truly been a highlight of my life to become involved in the lives of many of you.

We originally started in one older church gym in 2010 with five players and over the years have provided opportunities for over 1,000 players and countless coaches.

I have known Jeff for many years and feel he will offer a smooth transition for the next generation of NGV members! Jeff is currently the founder & one of the owners of 575 Volleyball Club, which has five locations that feature a full suite of programming including 75 competitive club teams, skill training, summer camps, events, etc.

North Georgia Volleyball (NGV) will remain its own independent run & branded entity, separate from other clubs. We will be releasing lots of information over the coming days so stay tuned!

Thank you to each and everyone of you!!

Kurt
